Are you in or are you out?

A friend recently told me about a fascinating book she just read called Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. It's on my reading list. In a nutshell, she explained that extroverts feel recharged and energized from time spent with others, while introverts get that same feeling from time spent alone. I thought this was an interesting and very truthful comparison. It's not necessarily that introverts are happier in solitude, so much as they might need it.

Personally, I'm an introvert who can play a good game and socialize like an extrovert when the situation calls for it. But I don't have the stamina to do that for long stretches. Too much and I feel depleted. It's pretty astonishing that given all our individualities, we can be sized up into these two categories, but I think that most of us really are one or the other.

So are you an introvert or an extrovert?
